LuffRope by CDI
Sept 05
LuffRope replaces 1 x 19 wire with Nicropressed eyes used in free furling jibs, staysails, and asymmetrical spinnakers. It comes with end fittings, cut to length, and ready to incorporate into the sail. 5 day delivery is standard.
There
are many drums and swivels on the market for gennakers
and Code O jibs, but the sailmakers are on their own
for the hard part, coming up with a luff line that
will be stiff enough to furl the sail, but flexible enough to fit into a sail
bag.
LuffRope solves the problems for less than you can buy and assemble the parts,
let alone tinker around to get the details just right.
LuffRopes are available in two versions. The LR version is made with a less
expensive line. Size for size it is less stiff torsionally
and 25% heavier than the SLR version. Both use the same style aluminum end
fittings and have the same load ratings. The SLR version exhibits less stretch
under load. At present, the SLR is only available in ½” diameter. The SLR is
intended for the ultimate in furling jibs, staysails, and asymmetrical
spinnaker.
